We provide organized tennis instruction for 4-17 year old members and non-members during July and August. This programhas been ru nning successfully for over a decade. The program runs for 12 sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, on the dates below.

We use a progressive approach to tennis instruction:

- 4-6 year olds use a mini-court and small racquets and sponge balls (we call them Timbits)

- 7-9 year olds use two thirds of a full court, larger racquets, and low compression balls

- 10 and up use the full court with full sized racquets and regular balls.

Tennis Lessons has been the name behind the Cambridge Tennis Club’s summer youth programs since 2000. Our mission is to promote the sport of tennis in Cambridge, giving opportunities for growth at all levels of play. We deliver a fast-paced, developmental program to children aged 4-17 by providing a fun experience as they learn to play.
In keeping with international tennis instructional practices, we follow a progressive tennis teaching model whereby our participants play on modified court sizes using various ball types (foam, low-compression and regular) and racquet sizes based on their age and ability.

Our head coaches are Tennis Canada certified and members of the Tennis Professionals Association. Further, we continually strive to learn more about the delivery of tennis instruction by regularly taking part in professional development and recertification seminars.
In order to encourage th7e development of future coaches and leaders, we have also selectively hired junior coaches* to assist with our programming and expose them to the world of coaching.

Since its inception, Tennis Lessons has been able to maintain a well-priced program to fit every family’s budget thanks to the support of the City of Cambridge, and several local sponsors.
